THE JOURNEY TO CREATING JEWELRY

"I have always been an artist," said Jen when asked what inspired her to start creating jewelry. She added that it started with painting and ceramics, eventually she fell in love with metalsmithing while attending college in Savannah, GA at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

In the beginning, Jen  started out creating her designs nights and weekends while working for other designers - honing her skills. During that time, she recalled that she had a customer order 10 horseshoe rings from her for her family in memory of her late grandfather who owned race horses. Jen said, "I remember how special it felt to create such special and meaningful rings for her."

Speaking of firsts, Jen remembered she sold her very first piece to her aunt at her college graduation senior show. Jen said it felt so special and her aunt still has the necklace and wears it! 💚

ARTIST'S DESIGN STYLE

Curious what was the very first moment when Jen felt like everything clicked, she shared, "Learning stone setting was hard and I remember the first successful prong setting for a pyrite ring I made was so fulfilling!"

THE DESIGN PROCESS

For Jen, her process is quite straightforward. She sketches basic ideas down and then start fabricating with materials until she creates a design she loves! 🫶🏼

Jen describes her design style as minimalist with pops of color and sparkle - whimsical and tells a story.
