MEET THE JEWELRY ARTIST

Francesca Kennedy is the jewelry artist behind the Instagram account @flkjewelry. She has been creating jewelry for 20 years now. Previously a clothing designer, she has always collected interesting stones and pearls. She shared that she has had a full tilt love of turquoise for as long as she can remember!
Francesca thinks her work is characterized by a sense of adventure and exploration. This comes from her love of telling stories and imagining the lives of the people who wear her work.
THE JOURNEY TO CREATING JEWELRY
"So many things inspire me!" Francesca declares when we asked her what got her inspired to create jewelry. She elaborated that she can’t decide if it’s people or materials more than the other, so let’s say both! Oh, and definitely music.
Francesca has been creating stuff since she was about 16, so she explained that it’s just been a way of life. She mentioned how she was also very fortunate to connect with visionary stockists early on so she has pretty much been free to follow the bliss, as she said. As an artist, that is often her biggest challenge - finding the connection.
So far, she loves sharing the journey!
ARTIST’S DESIGN STYLE
Most artists face different types of challenges when creating. However, when we find ourselves with moments that make us feel good about what we're doing, it's a priceless feeling! For Francesca, she's grateful to say that she still gets those moments pretty often - tempered by horrible slogs. "Whatever," she said. Followed by an: Always forward. (Love this mindset!)

"Oy. Loose," upon asking what her design process is like, this is what Francesca said! It's open to inspiration and happy circumstances. In addition, Francesca said it’s different when she's doing a collection as that has its own order.
Francesca described her design style as always striving for elegant, passionate, always improving technically, chic, and supportive of individual style.
