Mia started creating jewelry because she shared with us that she has always been obsessed with jewelry and accessories. Being an artist, she was inspired to start creating as she found it hard to find natural and unique pieces. Hence, making her own!

In life, when you do something you enjoy, there will still be challenges you’re going to face. For Mia, it was balancing custom orders and creating what she really wants. One more thing she shared with us is that she would never forget the piece she made with a huge Royston which she sold that she thinks she should have probably kept for herself. Ha! Well, we think one of the perks of being a silversmith is you can always try to do it again!

Mia’s creations are inspired by vintage western styled jewelry with her own personal taste and style. As she also works from her home studio which is based in the hills of the Byron Bay hinterland, nature inspires her work too with the wild landscapes and the creative vibrancy that surrounds her. She also adds that nature inspires us always, even if we don’t realize it.

As per the materials she uses with her designs, Mia loves how turquoise has a variety of colors and characters through each stone and that they have big personalities.

Take a look at some of her gorgeous works!

Finally, when we asked her what tip she can give to her fellow creators, Mia said, “Always follow your dreams, even if you have no idea on the path!”
